Imagine Being Wrapped in Chocolate....Yummm

I was reading today about a gift for Valentine's Day that's all to do with chocolate but not for the lips...a body wrap at Hamner Springs in New Zealand. Sounds heavenly.

First there's a scrub with honey and sugar (sounds a bit stcky to me). A cocoa powder paste is applied to your body and then you are wrapped in a plastic sheet and left on a warm bed... Can you just smell the aroma of chocolate?

Once washed off, apparently all too soon, you are treated to a body massage with cocoa butter. Let me get to Hamner...

Why do we feel that Valentines Day is the only day we can show our love? Here are a few everyday romantic ideas to practice in between official romance days:

Send flowers to your loved one at the office.
Buy a small box, line it with tissue paper and place a small bottle of massage oil inside with a note: "I know a great masseur -- call for your appointment (your phone number)
Make a photo album with picture of the two of you.
Organize a romantic breakfast in bed with champagne, croissants and strawberries.
Send a romantic e-card.

Now, don't leave planning for Valentines Day to the last minute, will you?

Why is it that romance must be confined to one day a year -- Valentines Day? Surely we would be happier beings if romance was part of every day.....or do you think we would then get bored? I personally think romance is perfect for any day of the year.

Valentine’s Day will soon here but there is no need to spend the earth to make it a romantic occasion. Here are some unusual Valentines ideas:

Buy a lovely hand mirror and attach a label that reads; “in this mirror you will see the most beautiful person in the world.”
Buy a domain name with your partner’s name and set up a web page. On the page write out your own romantic poem and place a picture of red roses.
Get a nice little box, line it with tissue paper and in it place a bottle of massage oil. Place a note in the box reading; “I know a great masseur, call (Name and number) for an appointment”.
Make some love coupons, for example; This coupon entitles the bearer to “one foot massage to be used by (date)”
Buy a box of chocolates and very carefully open one end and slip the box out. Insert a love note into the box and reseal. This is a surprise on a traditional idea.
Place a key inside an attractive box lined with velvet. Alongside the key write a note; “you hold the key to my heart”.

Valentine gifts for men need not break the bank. The day is after all is meant to be for spending time with your loved one and showing them how much you care. Does this need to be at the expense of the bank account? Is St Valentine’s Day on the verge of becoming another commercial holiday where we feel pressured into spending more and more… and all in the name of love? There are so many things we can do for one another without maxing the credit card or blowing the budget.

Last year I surveyed a number of men on their ideal Valentine’s Day and overwhelmingly the response was an intimate dinner for two. There’s a saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach so this possibly proves it. Some of the men surveyed also suggested a video or movie which can of course be part of your romantic evening. While dining play some romantic music.

Take time and watch the sunset. If the weather allows take a picnic basket, rug, a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers.
